Please calm my wrath
« on: Tue, 08 January 2013, 14:42:13 »
The FedEx guy came by my place today, and didn't drop off my realforce keyboard because I was not there to sign for it. Please post an assortment of pictures and text to calm my nerves.

That happens to me all the time.  Just go to the FedEx location after work and pick it up.  Mine is a bit of a drive, but at least I get my goodies.

With UPS, you can even intercept the package in transit and have it diverted to the location of your choice, as long as you have signed up with myUPS or whatever its called.  Perhaps FedEx has a similar service.

This happens to be every time something is sent fedex, but I am always home to make it even more frustrating. It seems that fedex require all delivery driver to be unaware of concepts of knocking or ringing the doorbell... they are by far my most hated courier service. Also whenever I try to have it held for pick up instead before the first delivery is even 'attempted' they always seem to screw that up too and I usually have to wait 2 or 3 additional days.

Agreed.  FedEx is definitely the worst, although they don't lose packages the way USPS does   I like UPS.

Most interesting is that they (UPS and FedEx) randomly pick whether to follow the signature waiver I have on file.

My delivery guy sometimes just leave the package on the front door step and drive away.

Which can be good or bad depends on how you see it.  Like it's good that it's here but it also mean anyone can swing by my door and jack them.

UPS has been surprisingly good to me.  I say that having had two friends work at UPS facilities and have stories to tell on their treatment of packages.  Still, the delivery guys knock and ring the doorbell when dropping off a package.

FedEx on the other hand... I'd once ordered a bass and it was shipped 2-day FedEx to my house.  I worked from home that day just to make sure I was there since a signature was required.  My wife comes home for lunch and says she thinks my bass is out front.  A massive box is there.  Sure enough, there it is.  Signature required.  Left by the front door.  No doorbell, no knock.  Nothing.  Thanks, FedEx.  They're just lucky.  I'd waited 9 months for that bass to be made.

The alliance... I mean the FedEx man... will die. As will your friends. Good, I can feel your anger. He is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike him down with all of your hatred and your journey towards Topre will be complete!

Ha Niomosy... I had the same, I think one of the only time they did that was when I ordered my bass, a BC Rich Warlock American made neckthough... they just left it outside and my neighborhood isn't the best. I was extremely tempted to file a claim and let them buy me a 2nd one, it was like something around $2000 in the late 90's. Also signiture required naturally, they would have had to as they wouldn't have had any such signiture proof it was ever accepted by anyone authorized to do so. I really should have done but I have that pesky honest streak.

I had to have something signed for a while back ago, I knew I wasn't going to be home so I decided to call up FedEx to see if there was anything I could do.  I found out that if you leave a signed note on your door saying they can leave it, that is good enough.  I have a storm door on the front door so it made it easier with wind and everything but I have been doing that since with bigger packages just in case I am in the shower or the diver decides to knock only (we have doorbells for a reason FedEx...)

A MIA Warlock?  Ohhhhh pointy goodness.  I like.  Mine's a Fodera Imperial 5.  I had the same honest streak that simply sat back and thought that FedEx was mighty lucky no one took it.

Lucky for me, FedEx doesn't appear to be used too heavily by a lot of companies I've been buying from lately that just use UPS or some smaller carrier (Amazon seems to love smaller carriers).
