I bought my Rosewill just a few months ago. It was crap. Thank God for Scotch Tape.
what the heck happened that you had to tape it??? mein i got it few months a go and true im not plugging and unplugging it constantly, very rare actually but scotch tape?
I wrote a million msgs about it. I never unplugged it. Ever.
The connector began making and breaking the connection constantly as I typed. The pressure of my pressing keys was enough to make it break/remake the electrical connection. The result was that the keyboard went totally insane. It was always flashing lights at me, changing my chars into other chars, holding down the alt keys or shift keys, going in slow motion. Just all kinds of !$!@ ridiculous annoying crap.
Putting tape on it has stabilized it so now it has worked 99% perfectly since then. Every time someone sees my keyboard they always ask "Why is there tape all over your keyboard?" then I hafta tell them the story of how Rosewill refuses to make a proper keyboard with a proper strain-relief cable using ancient 20th century technology.
I figure I might be able to use the keyboard like this for a few years before it completely breaks. We'll see. Its all luck. If anything was ever to gently bump the cable or connector it can snap off the rest of the way.
I must say I am very impressed with how well this tape is sticking. Its actually just some cheapo generic tape that is several years old. I figured it would fall off within 30 days but it really stuck well. I am looking at the dispenser now. It is so generic that there are literally
no brand markings of any kind. Now that's what I call generic tape.
