WTB tenkeyless Topre board
« on: Wed, 03 April 2013, 22:47:37 »
Hey guys, I think I am finally ready to make the jump into topre. I am looking for a dark grey tenkeyless real force , preferably 55g weighted. Don't really care about blank or labeled keys, just looking for a good price. Thanks :D

I don't think I want 45, from what I've heard, 55 is the way to go. So ill just be patient and wait for a 55.

You're probably only going to get about $20, maybe $30 discount off a new 55g from EK ($250). If you can hold out, cool, but the resale on Topres is pretty high, you might just wanna get a new one.

Haha that's funny, you are one of the main reasons I want to get the 55g real force. Would you say rf feels better than hhkb since it has the metal plate? Or is it really just a personal thing

Definitely a personal thing. I've been torn recently. I like the actual key feel of the HHKB better than the RF, but the plate adds a stability to the entire board that's missing on the HHKB, which alters ever so slightly how I type on it. Plus there's also the fn layer, which a lot of people swear by, but I haven't personally gotten used to in Windows yet. For a first Topre, I'd definitely suggest the RealForce 55g. Worst case scenario you resell it and it cost you $20-$30 to try it out for however long you keep it.
