I have a Filco Majestouch Ninja and think it is made like ****.
They keys are thinner than Razer's Blackwidows and the Costar Stabilizers have been a pain. The space bar rattles and every long key makes a different sound. And no, not the cool 'ping' or nice sounding mechanical keyboard sounds either.
It's just, if I am going to make it my main gaming board and mod it out with expensive keys, I don't want **** rattling on me. I have tried Cherry stabilizers and on red switches, you really can't feel the difference from Costar, especially with red o-rings. Not to mention there is absolutely no rattle and the key just feels more proportioned to me. I think Filco is extremely over-hyped and I am not trying to be disrespectful to anyone. Maybe my expectations were just set too high.
Also, for anyone else reading this, there are other things to factor besides just if you want back-lit or not. I plan on using different switches for different tasks and being able to hot swap keyboards without changing wires by the mini-usb I can see being ultra handy.
I would have went for Leopold, but the roundness of their case is fugly as hell. It looks like these new Duckys have even sharper edges than Filcos. If The Year of the Dragon is basically a Ducky Shine 2 with LE lighting, then I do not see why anyone would get a Filco over it. It's priced the same and has some awesome back-lighting. It also seems like Ducky really stepped up their game.
Now it is just a matter of picking a back-light color. I think I might go with Blue LED. I envision the blue LEDs bleeding on the sides of my red PBT WASD cluster and black on black PBT keys.
Thanks for that great video. I will put up a comparison review as well real soon.
