[Review] Madcatz WWE Brawl Stick
« on: Sat, 07 September 2013, 17:49:27 »
So this stick is my first fight stick in a long time (dreamcast stick was last purchased stick) and I decided to tell you what my opinion of the stick is after 2 weeks of use since steam has gotten some good fighters on it now (SF4, MK9, KoF13, and skullgirls).

Lets start this review off by stating that the stick is not that good because of the parts that were used in my opinion. The buttons have no response on them and are very loud when bottomed out from a loud clack. I bought the PS3 version so I don't know how the buttons are on the 360 version but I presume that they are the same in build quality.

The stick feels like its meant for abuse and can handle quite a bit. my only complaint with the stick is the amount of pressure needed to move it to actuate of the input I want to put in.

The decal on the front is absolutely abysmal but that's what you get for ordering a fight stick designed for a WWE game! Thankfully there is the template online where you can order a new sticker from sites like vistaprint.

Now this stick is cheap and you can feel it in the buttons, but since this stick is so cheap you would think why would you buy this stick instead of an expensive one? The stick is easily modifiable. It uses standardized plugs for everything so you can easily swap the buttons out for better quality buttons from more reputable companies like sanwa and such. all in all this stick by stock comes with horrible art and buttons but uses standardized electronics for an easily modifiable experience. If you can get this stick for 40 bucks you can make it into a really nice stick! Easily I would call this stick the quick fire rapid of fight sticks because its so affordable and modifiable.

For entering the fight stick market I would give it a 7/10 and after getting new buttons and a new stick on it and replacing the art easily a 9/10
(Xender) and size probably matters
(Xender) but dont quote me on that
(Xender) and i just realized what i said

So essentially just buy a different stick.

no not entirely, its got a great ability to modify, any stick you buy would cost more and you still might want to mod it so it would cost even more to mod it to your liking.
