What is the lightest Clicky switch?
« on: Wed, 14 August 2013, 11:23:07 »
I have a realforce variable weight, which has 35 g key weighting on the outside keys (like A and ;) - i love the light touch of this keyboard for general typing. After I got used to it, I started thinking the lighter the better, but I miss the Click you get with Cherry-MX Blues.

Does anyone have an idea what the lightest weight Clicky switches are available?

I've tried Cherry-MX Blues and I like them, just can't remember what the key weighting is on those. I was thinking of buying a board with those, but wanted to ask here if anyone knew of something lighter.

Blues ARE the lightest clicky switch you can buy. HOWEVER. You can get 45g springs from originative and throw them in some blues and they'll be as light, if not lighter than the 35g's on your RF :)

Awesome, I didn't know about these. Not very expensive either. Thanks.

The lightest clicky switches I've found so far, are Green XM alps (I have a Ducky 1087 with those switches)

I'm constantly looking for similar boards. Not easy to find.

I second this, if i breathe too hard on those green alps they activate.

Nice DIY approach. Maybe we're spoiled here on GH, but DAMN put a little pride into that. Make it look nice at least

When was this done? Even the site and picutures looks old.
I think it gives it character. Lets you know its your keyboard. All keyboards nowadays are Acrylic and Aluminum.

It's been up for a couple years at least. It was mentioned on GH in 2007 and 2008, so I expect it's from around then.

I ran across it some time ago when searching for keyboards online.
