I just came across a few of these things on Ebay, but I've never heard of them.
Maxi Switch Sliders?
One listing said these are the sliders that collectors look for. I'm not sure they could de-throne the pink Alps sliders, but I'm open for anything.

That's not the clearest photo on Scarry-Garcia's ebay shop. To me it looks almost like a rubber-dome.

A thrift shop in the area has that exact Gateway 2000 keyboard for $2. Same part # on the back and same plastic stem(?) below the keys, so it's definitely the same thing. I left it on the shelf. Felt like a standard rubber dome board.
