New here (Kind of) Model M Collector!
« on: Thu, 22 August 2013, 07:50:00 »
Hello there!

I sold a keyboard to someone who referred me to this site. Not sure what his username is, though.

I have (had?) 4 or 5 spring model M's, a Unicomp Germanic layout and 3 or 4 dome Model M's ... the dome ones are odd, but I have a few. I also have 5 or 6 of the compaq trackball keybards. I'm not sure what it is, but I really enjoy playing around with different keyboards, etc.

I have quite the collection ... aside from what is listed above.

I'm the guy that hunts around the thrift shops trying to find that one cool keyboard! Currently on the hunt for Keytronics. A local computer OEM (Nexlink / Seneca Data) used them for YEARS, so there's no shortage of them ... it's just hard trying to find them when they come around.

-Mike

welcome to GH.

Maybe try one of the newer mechanical keyboards?  You just need access to our classifieds to get one for a good price.  That way you don't have to troll around musty old shops.

So spam you post count up to 60 and get a new(ish) keyboard.

I already have over 50 keyboards in my possession.

Between that and all of the Jeep parts, it's getting cozy.

That is STILL the only way to find valid keyboards.  Ebay is okay but actually driving out to someone's place and rummaging through boxes of stuff to find that much older keyboard, still sends a shock of electricity into my tiny brain.

Incomparable feeling when you find that special keyboard in a near perfect condition.
