ebay sucks.  They extort me all the time.  I hate it.  Don't pay.  See if I care.

Being a New Yorker, I thought you'd just deal with it... I mean that's how they do business over there, right?

lol, wut?  That's how who does what over where?  I'm not sure what you are saying?  You mean New Yorkers extort others?  Or that they refuse to pay?  Or what?  Are you just trying to say something negative about my home town?  I guess I don't get it.

I guess that he is saying that a New Yorker will act correctly and pay because it is his duty

How do you place a bid and not be willing to pay that amount if you win?
I think we need a tougher registration process...

Thanks OP, I needed a laugh today! You bid, you pay. Don't get shirty because you have no self control.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I honestly can't believe the outrageous(ly hilarious) shaming going on here.

Perhaps the OP shouldn't have called it extortion, but I suppose I understand his predicament.  Some sellers engage in "shill bidding," which is essentially when the seller bids on his/her own item to inflate the price.  Sometimes this leads to the seller winning his own item and having to relist it, but the rewards are sometimes worth it.

Not saying that's what was happening with the OP, but it's a lesson learned.  Max bid means the literal maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item, and if you weren't willing to pay $130 for it, then that shouldn't have been your maximum bid.  If you expected to get it for less, then your maximum bid should have been less.

Anyways, sorry for the exorbitant price, but as has been repeated in numerous and over the top ways already, you did it yourself.  Just because it's been sitting at $5 for the first five and a half days, always expect the price to skyrocket in the last thirty seconds.

unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

I am disappointed to discover that this is not yet another thread where people complain about the exorbitant fees ebay charges sellers.

When I sell a keyboard for $130 I will probably be paying $8-10 in ebay fees + another $4-5 dollars in Paypal fees.

Considering that the transaction was handled electronically with pretty much no human intervention at all, the fees seem excessive.

And the carriers have jacked up shipping fees even more than ebay fees in the last couple of years, that is even worse and really painful, but there is at least a reasonable justification for it.

PS - As an ebay seller, I f_cking hate it when a worthless slimeball buyer reneges on an auction after it is over.
