it's a pretty meh price at 70$, but some people like the weller tips and iron over the hakkos.

note that i still recommend the 888D wholeheartedly over the ancient WES51 for new solderers and people who haven't developed weird preferences yet. the 888D is a digital regulator that is calibratable and significantly more accurate, as well as being higher power.

I'm glad you wrote this post. :) I've been debating over the two products for a while since they're the same price but, as a novice, I really had no reason to prefer one or the other. :thumb:
