What size LEDs for switches?
« on: Sun, 29 September 2013, 08:12:25 »
I bought some red led's off of Amazon to solder onto my Poker II. I think they are 5mm.

They looked good in the pictures but upon receiving them I see that they are actually way taller than the switch housing, I dont think they are going to work. What size is correct for this application, and if you could post a link to a product known to work that would be really cool.

Thanks!

You need T1 or 3mm LEDs. If they have the little nub on the bottom, you'll have to shave it off if you want them to be seated flush.

Or, just look for square ones if you don't want to bother with modding. The selections are greatly limited if you go with the rectangle ones.

The ones I got were circular, I thought I needed to match the indent on the switch housing. Small square ones are the best?

Here is what I bought :(  :

CPT, is this what you would get? :

And also, would these work, especially if I shaved off the nub? They are shorter than the ones I bought. I would rather order from Amazon with prime rather than "free intl shipping" from Hong Kong:

Yes. The exact ones I bought are in the Simple Questions OP. But those look fine.
