I've had my K70 w/MX reds for a little over a year now. Never blown out or cleaned, and no issues whatsoever. It is a nice keyboard.
At the time of purchase I was still a keyboard noob, only having had experience with a Das Keyboard with Cherry blues and one with browns. The one with browns I had ordered with blank keycaps, and it was menacing looking. But, when I did occasional gaming with it, you can understand that having no letters was a bit of a problem!

I also found myself not liking the "dirty" feeling of browns. So, I went to find a replacement and wanted to try Cherry reds.
I will fully admit that I was enamored with the K70's LED-lit keys, and I also liked the idea of the handy volume wheel, because I play music off my machine a lot and adjust the volume a lot. So, I went for it- and I still have
almost no regrets.
That said, one thing that I did not consider (and you should) is whether or not you'll eventually want to tinker with third-party replacement keycaps, for a variety of reasons. Maybe you'll never have a desire to do this, but I do now and my options are quite limited as far as a full replacement set, because of the non-standard bottom row spacing. Top that off with the additional complication of finding replacement keycaps that allow the LED lighting to come through - that limits the options even further.
That's just something to consider. Odds are you have an inner geek that will eventually want to hack your board- and the K70 isn't the best option there.
