You'll need to desolder and resolder the LEDs.

I'm also trying to change LEDs. For my KBT Pure. You do need to desolder and solder. I believe you need 3mm LED's? I'm still confused on the whole flangeless thing too.

Either you get 3mm flangeless LEDs which doesn't have the wings on the bottom or 2x3x4 square LEDs. The LEDs with flanges will sit too high (as it won't fit into the LED hole on the switch) which will hit your keycap when bottoming out.

I believe depending on what led's you choose the resistors also may  need to be changed.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

go ask Damorgue; he knows how to do up a system where LED lights can be swapped at will with the aid of http://www.ebay.com/itm/260551794155?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I'm not technically skilled so I prefer not to pass on his instructions in case I misunderstood them.

Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.
