crappy USB receptable?

Dear fellow tinkerers! Since I soldered this LCSC Part # C165948 USB Type-C receptacle into my DIY PCB it had horizontal play, resulting in the USB-plug wiggling horizontally if slightly pushed to the side. Is that as it's ought to be?    I'm in doubt because my keyboard now and then acts weird, in that it connects and reconnects randomly with that ding dong Windows sound you know. I figured that this actually happens as soon as the USB cable plug is in a certain horizontal position in that wiggly receptacle. Formerly I had a Type-B micro receptacle soldered in, and it was rock solid. Why on earth does a technical successor become worse than it's predecessor? I don't get it.

But all complaints aside, I don't know what to do now. Shall I move back to USB mini / micro? Or are there Type-C receptacles that don't wiggle?

Are the legs of the housing properly soldered to the PCB? I've had cheaper PCBs that either did not have them soldered at all or the joints were very weakly soldered, which allowed the USB port to rock up & down. Soldering all of the housing legs down to the PCB properly fixed the issue for me each time I've noticed that.

Even before soldering I sourced a receptacle with 4 legs, to have it extra stable sitting, and carefully soldered the legs with plenty of solder in. It seems that it's the contact between the pins of the USB cable and the pins of the receptacle, not the contact between receptacle and PCB. Guess I switch back to some mini B receptacle (by MOLEX), a step back like this is sad, but this crappy Type-C standard kinda forces me to do this. I'm a windows follower, but I have to admit that Apple connectors are at least of high quality, they can do it, but USB consortium can't. Hm... which brings me to the idea... can't I use an Apple receptacle? Lightning or something?

it is typically  a dirt or the springy part for the connection which causes a bad contact. In case of USB-C the springy part is on the cable. Try a different cable whether it helps. Check whether both the plug and the receptacle do not have dirt inside.

This is a commonly used part for custom keebs. Is the cable plugged in all the way?

It could of course be a faulty connector, but that's very unusual.

Sorry, my fault, it is/was the cable, indeed. I simpley swapped the old one for a new one and the problem was gone. I could have done this prior to posting here so it was abit idiotic. But I was convinced that the receptable was the culprit, and I was wrong with that assumption.
