seriously, how many of you guys actually get the mail in rebate?

on more than half my MIRs were rejected on some 'technicality' or 'issue'.

Once they rejected a $200 MIR claiming I missed the deadline. I had sent the letter with 1 month left on the deadline, so it obviously meant they were either lying or USPS actually took one full month to send the letter from one major US city to another major US city within 500 miles of each other.

That made me so angry I complained to the Better Business Bureau, and they issued a $200 refund right away.

Wonder if anyone has a similar experience. Spamray, hurry up and give me a reply!

So, you get about half your mail in rebates? I think that's pretty close to par, for me. Actually personally I'm running closer to getting three in four, but the real thing to remember is, it takes a freakishly long time for the company to agree to let go of their (your) money.

Don't buy it because the after-MIR is great, buy it because it's great. And oh! BTW! there's a MIR you should remember to fill out.

If "you" can't afford to buy it sans-MIR ... the potential shopper should let it go. Too much fragility in MIRs to rely on them.

I've received every MIR I've ever sent in for save for one way back in the day...and I ultimately got that one after some fighting with them.  If you're not getting them, odds are you're not following the directions properly.

Also, always photocopy anything you send in before doing so and always get a receipt with the date of shipment and tracking from the post.  As long as you do those steps, you should always get the MIR if it's denied.

Bought this to try out Rosewill. Worst case scenario, I get to scavenge 100+ blues for $40. Thanks for all the tips on MIRs guys.
