I recently upgraded from my Leopold TKL with Blue switches to Ducky Shine 3 TKL brown switches.  To my surprise, not only does it look visually pleasing, it's built very well too.  It was a smart move for Ducky to get the higher quality dual layer PCBs.

This may sound like a dumb question; but when do the LED's turn off?  It would be hard to imagine Ducky would just let the LEDs stay one 24/7 on PCs that don't go into hibernate/sleep.  I read the small leaflet manual it came with; but didn't see anything about sleep mode.  I also searched online, but couldn't find anything about this (which is a bit surprising).  If I could control the LED's via Windows, I could write a small app that takes care of this; but, I'm not sure if the Function key is accessible via Windows.

I have never heard of a sleep mode for a keyboard before. :O I don't think you can control the LEDs via software either.

The LEDs on my Shine 1 do not auto-turn off.  However when the computer goes to sleep and removes USB power, the keyboard does shut down.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
