Once you discover mech keyboards, you really cannot go back. I put up with laptops but if I could, I would buy a laptop with a mech on it. Would weight a ton but...worth it.

I really do like the mechanical keyboards...I did have a couple of the old IBM's and a Packard Bell ( I think was mech) laying around. I will have to see if I can dig them out. I just bought a tipro matrix board off of ebay for a lighting console (chamsys) project I am working on. Thanks for the welcome!

Hey, dunkin!

I'm new here too. What were your impressions of the MS Naturals? They look pretty crazy to me, and I always thought they would make my typing worse, but a lot of people really like them.

Welcome,

Spurious George

I was relatively late to the typing world. I didn't learn to type until college (2002). We used them at the office I worked at the school and hated them at first. As I got into my programing classes my hands would begin to ache. I thought maybe I should try one of the ergos. Since I was already familiar with the MS ones at my work I decided to buy one. I have been a happy user ever since and even have troubles with a standard. It will take a little to get use to but it is worth it. One note, I used the front "prop" to raise the palm rest up. It is a lot more comfortable to me. Some people don't like them. Let me know if you have any questions.

You really have to try the MS Naturals out yourself for a week or so. For every person like Dunkin there is a person like me who absolutely hated them. After a few months, I bought my own keyboard for work because all our stock room had available were the Naturals.

(it isn't just a 'do you like ergo boards or not' thing, it is a specific shape/angle/feel of the MS Naturals - I mean, you can see my avatar is the old Apple Adjustable, which I loved)

Thanks, dunkin and TacticaT! I'll see if I can get my hands on an inexpensive ergo and try it out.
