IBM AT model F
« on: Fri, 17 January 2014, 10:31:30 »
Hi all,

I have been in contact with the seller that sold me the F122 recently and asked him if he add some AT model F too. He found 5, but he's selling them 130$. The price is a little hard for me, but I am sharing it here if someone is interested.

the F122 I received was in a superb condition, I can't garantee this one will be, but it's still interesting.

The photograph of a screen displaying an image of an AT model F keyboard is very web 0.2 (also very sketchy . I wonder whose picture they've stolen. Recycledgoods maybe?)
here's the US ebay link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/370988699790
international shipping from laval (near montreal) to the US is very good.

Anyone recognize the watermark on the tiny thumbnail? Anyone?

I'll give you a hint - it's mine.

Where do you have a source that shows 6540200 is the 122 F?

I couldn't find that part number anywhere.

Every F-122 that I have seen has been 6110xxx

Here's my theory on this and where it comes from:

First, these AT model F have been "found" because I asked the seller of the F122 if he had some AT model F with the number 6450200

A few days later he answered that he found some (but pricey). After trying to get them for a lower price, the seller finally just put them on ebay.

The thing is, the F122 that I received from him seems to be a refurbished keyboard in an amazing shape. It was all wrapped and there was not even dust. To me it looks like it was a refurbished keyboard what had been stored waiting to be used again when another would fail and that it never happened.

If my theory is true, probably the seller just had access to them by PN and could not or didn't want to unwrap one to take pictures. Anyway, I still bought one, probably overpriced, but I will be able to determine this when I will get it since if it's in the same shape as my F122 then it won't be overpriced in my opinion. the shipping for the F122 only took 2 days for me since it's close to where I live. So I will be glad to post pictures of it once I get it.

Edit: BTW, I can't test it yet since I lack the pro micro and a female DIN5, but I will as soon as I get these parts. Still, the used/refurbished state implies it is working as far as I know.

Where are you getting this part number from?

I did a little more searching.  The only place I've found 6450200 is in an IBM Japan announcement letter, and it does say PC-AT keyboard.  But it's from 2003.

Edit:  Did still more searching, by plugging in the number in the search here.   See multiple places where it refers to the AT keyboard.

Looks like the UK AT's had different stickers on the back with the actual part number vs the US AT's where there's only a barcode number starting with 26 or 27.

I'd be very interested to hear how the AT Model F looks.  I'm always a little worried when sellers post stock photos, but if they're in the factory packaging, I can understand not wanting to open it up...

Hopefully my F122s are as good as yours turned out - I bought them from the same guy but it took him over 10 days just to get them in the mail; I'm still waiting for them!  Although I guess Canada -> Canada is easier to ship that Canada -> USA.

Looking for a 1387033...
