I've been using full-sized US Browns boards from EK (Leopold) and from WASD for a couple years now and feel it may be time to get a new board or two to go with my new computers coming in.

I always add o-rings (well, in the future I will pay someone to add the o-rings for me, probably WASD -- I don't know if they'll do that on a board I send such as a CM, but I'll pay well for the time-savings).

EK is out of this style of board for the time being. Looks like maybe a month or two.

I'm curious if anyone can make a recommendation in choosing between the CM version available on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-XT-Mechanical/dp/B00EQV0W02/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390973664&sr=8-1&keywords=cm+full+brown) and getting one from WASD.

I know CM is a good name. I don't know if that steel plate they talk about is special to them or if the ones from WASD have it also (or if it can help reduce the infamous ping). I like the overall form factor. I'm not crazy about the lettering but I can live with it. I'm not crazy about it being called a "gaming" board since I'm strictly a power business user. And I don't really need the media keys there across the Function keys (I don't expect I can use for editing audio and video, but if I can that could be useful). None of my cons there are of much significance, so I'm sure I'll be just fine with this board.

I know WASD is a good name, too. I learned that the frames they're using have very square edges, which I'm not thrilled about but I'm sure I can live with it. I assume I'll prefer the letter on this over the CM, and I assume it won't come with any gaming connotations (or media keys). The lettering on my old WASD browns board wore off twice, but Weyman assures me they have now gone to a "much" better laser lettering system.

Suggestions/thoughts about those or anything other full-sized US Browns boards I may consider would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

How about a Ducky keyboard?

The Shine has backlighting, or you can go for the Ducky Zero, which has no backlighting.

A good reliable board, available with various MX switches.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
