How do you know that's really POM, and not laser infill on ABS?

The white legends seem too light to be lasered POM.

I have these exact caps and I'm typing on them right now. They are definitely POM. You can also refer to this post from myself and dorkvader discussing it.

Hmm, POM sounds good. But I don't think Cherry bothers with the expense of adding a protective coating, right?

I remember Rosewill has laser infill without coating, and it fades over time.

Filco has coating, and the legends remain bright.

The price is really excellent and tempting, but there should be two main factors militating against a purchase.

1) the modifiers for MY switches are incompatible
2) POM may be lasting but laser infill usually isn't, leading to keycaps without shine and without legends / worn off legends after a while.

But for that kind of price, heh, I'm tempted.

Well my experience with POM laser, after 4 years of use is that they didn't wear off. Only that the legend was sliightly grey (solved with a couple of dent tabs and a good cleaning).

Mine show heavy use on the keyboards and caps, so it's a good case study.

The less used keys still have the raised infil, you can feel it clearly. I'm not a huge fan of this.
The more used keys (tenkey and alphas) are no longer raised and have turned a little grey/brown with use. I haven't cleaned them, but the legends show no signs of further wear. I don't think they are coated, but the infil material seems to be quite durable after it's abraded to roughly the surface level of the keycap.

Ofcourse, I wouldn't expect this to last decades, but I wouldn't expect the rest of the keyboard to last that long either. It's more than durable enough to justify the cost, especially the cheap used ones here.

(please note that mine are G80-versions, so the keycaps are compatible of course)
