60 model M keyboards, 99 bucks

They are all damaged to some extent, but it might be a good deal for caps and parts, depending on shipping.

Seems like an awful lot of 122 M's in there.

The guy who sold 30 last year charged $200 freight shipping, so for 60 assume a bit more.

Anything but terminals there?

I would say that you can't fit more than half a dozen into any reasonable-sized box, and that would cost $30-40 via ground shipping.

Maybe a good buy for somebody in that area who has a van or truck.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191125763275 is the more interesting one - but man, they are quite mushed up... that said, I wouldn't mind buying some more keycaps for ANSI conversions if someone happens to snag them.

I'd also keep in mind that this seller has several M's for sale individually, both 101 and 122, with prices on the higher end for keyboards that can use a cleaning.

I suspect if any of these keyboards could have been easily made to a workable state for sale individually they would have been.

It looks to me like all the "junk" boards are missing keys. It may be that he raided them to complete the better keyboards and sell them for top dollar.

Keys are available from Unicomp but tend to be pricey if you order more than a handful.

Whoever buys these lots might make some money if he is willing to spend several hours of work and make a $100+ order from Unicomp or clickykeyboards.

If he was local to me and I could drive and get them, I would surely do it.

This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Probably made a direct sale.

Although you would want to unload them with a minimum of hassle, I would imagine that lots of no more than a dozen would be far more attractive to ordinary buyers.
