Hey there from Chicago
« on: Sat, 15 March 2014, 00:20:28 »
Hey, guys. Just thought I'd throw a post out there introducing myself. I made this account as I've been using your forums as a way to gather information about keyboards in general. You see.. I've been developing a keyboard. Specifically it's a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches where each key has RGB LEDs and each key is completely independently color controlled. This keyboard has Macro key functionality, many different lighting control options, and a USB pass through connecting with a micro-usb B 3.0 port. It has a similar physical design to both the Saitek Eclipse original, and the Corsair K60/K90 (images will be inc as I finish the CAD files for the case). So far the PCB is more or less finished, and the programming for the micro controller is also close to completion. The main issues I've got to resolve so far is coming up with a decent keycap set as it's not a typical layout for keyboards, and any suggestions people may have for options I should include with the keyboard on it's release. I'm trying to get a "feel" for who might be interested in purchasing this keyboard from me as I am getting closer and closer to producing this keyboard. Any tips, or help you could give me to get the word out would be much appreciated!  :thumb:

I understand some want their boards to be as fancy as possible, but I cannot imagine an IBM keyboard adorned with color leds. I still believe in the simplicity of the input device in its base form, though.

People like X-max trees though! ;) Thanks very much all, and I'll take your guys advice. Thanks! Hopefully when I start production it catches your guys intrigue and I see one of your names in the list of people who want to buy one from me!  ;D
