Need some help with/info on the Pure Pro
« on: Tue, 04 March 2014, 23:39:58 »
Hi guys,

Recently I bought a KBT Pure Pro (from qtan5370's online shop)
but I have some (minor-ish) issues with, and questions about this keyboard.

First of all, the manual is in Chinese (I presume) and am not able to make sense of everything.
I've googled around and searched around on youtube and geekhack, but haven't been able to find all of the info I need.
Because I want to know my board, so I can use it to its full potential. You know? :)

So one thing I'd like to know is what exactly all four DIP switched on the bottom accomplish?

Also, which keys exactly get affected by the Fn key? (Are any of the keys which do not have any writing on the side, affected?) Or/and what do the keys do, when Fn is held down?
Because, for example, the tilde(`~) key and the F-keys (F1, F2, F3...) make sense to me. But i also see 15ms(F key), 0,1s(G key), 0,5s(H key), App(X key), Pmode(RCTRL)...

And what about the Pn key..? I read that it allows you to create macros yourself, or/and program (certain?) keys on your keyboard yourself(?)
So, what does the Pn key do, exactly? And how does that work..?

I'd greatly appreciate any insight on these things (feel free to redirect me to other threads, posts, whatevers).
And if there's anything other than the Fn/Pn keys and the DIP switches that one should know about this board; please do let me know! :)

Now, the issue I'm having with the board is that my left shift and my return key are both a bit too.. resistant. They are not quite as smooth as the rest of the keys. I presume it has to do with the stabilizers(?), though my spacebar is working very nicely/smoothly, and feels great.
So, any thoughts on what the issue might be with those 2 keys? Any suggestions for me to try and fix it?

Well, thanks alot for reading. I'll be hoping for some clearification :)

note: It's my first keyboard purchase ever. Go easy on me ;p
note: Cherry MX Red switches
note: No modifications whatsoever, at the moment. the board's still completely stock, so no o-rings or dampeners or anything either

Does anybody know if the case is plastic or metal like the pure?

And also does anybody know if the screws are the same location as standard 60% keyboard like POKER II?

I think the only pure's that came with metal casing are the limited ones.

thanks alot spiceBar! :j awesome.
i see it's not the same layout but i presume that won't matter when it comes to fn/pn/dip.

i'm currently looking into lubing my red switches up.
is there anything i should keep in mind when taking my pure pro apart? (as in is there something specifically different about disassembling a pure pro, opposed to disassembling the average plate-mounted keyboard?)

also, would stickers be overkill/useless on plate-mounted/pure pro? i've read people have modded their plate-mounted keyboards with stickers, but others say it's silly to do this.
i don't feel any wobbling but i am all for optimisation. and since i'm going to open it up anyways..
any opinions? :)

Exact same plastic case and screw locations as the Poker II.

Exactly the same programmable controller.

It's a Poker II with more keys.
