Realforce 87U English.

I have bought a few items from this seller and have one of these on the way of course.
He is very good indeed.
The feedback he has is no exaggeration.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Topre-Realforce-87U-English-Keyboard_W0QQitemZ220387645624QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_ComputerComponents_KeyboardsMice?hash=item220387645624&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

He has ordered 10!
According to Diatec these will be very limited so if you would like one I would jump on it now.
Seems like a lot of money but Im sure it will be more than worth it.
Keyboards. Happy Hacking pro 2 x2. One white one black. IBM model M US layout. SGI silicone Graphics with rubber dampened ALPS. IBM model F. ALPS apple board, I forget what it is. And some more I forget what I have.

Typewriters. Olivetti Valentine. Imperial Good Companion Model T. Olympia SM3

I don't think he would ship to the US, though (I tried looking on the listing).  Even so, it might be just as much after shipping.

Here is the link to this item on ebay US
http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Topre-Realforce-87U-English-Keyboard_W0QQitemZ220387643972QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item220387643972&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A570|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
On that link it does state that he will ship to:
Ships to:   United States, Canada, Australia
Item location:   Tokyo, default, Japan

What is interesting is that on ebay UK he states that he will ship:
Post to:   Europe, Australia
Item location:   Tokyo, default, Japan

Actually after looking at both ebay UK and ebay US it looks like he is getting two lots as on ebay UK he has already sold 2 of them. On ebay US he has only sold one of them.

EDIT: For reference on ebay US he is asking 285 + 39 shipping which is cheaper than I got it for.

why would these be a limited run?  They seem like something that would continue to sell.  I would like one, but I can't even consider getting one for a few months.

That way they can charge a higher price for it.  Also, people on the fence about getting one might go ahead and pull the trigger since they can't "sleep on it" and buy one later.

That, and they're doing it just to piss you off. :)

haha.  it's working! :P

I do think a lot of places say "limited" when it really isn't just to try to get sales as soon as possible.  I'm not falling for it this time!

Unfortunately, I don't have a choice since I can't throw out $300+ for a keyboard right now, esp. while I'm still trying cheaper switches.

That's exactly why I don't own one. :)

Besides, these Cherry browns are the bomb.  I am going to bask in the all the glory these have to offer for awhile.

The black 86U has been unavailable for ages and was quite limited.

I think that is why everyone is jumping on this. I remember when the black 86U came out and thought it was the perfect board but way more than I wanted to spend at the time (I was getting BS boards). When I finally decided that I would spend the money and get one they were gone! So went looking at other boards but still really wanted a realforce board. Then we had that post that a new Black realforce was comming out this time I had to just jump. I didn't even wait for this to make it to ebay I went through a broker to get it and Yea I paid more for it but the important part will be that I will get one this time :) I'm sure that once this one sells out the white one will be available for a while longer just like you can still get the white 86U then at some point they will do another one but it will be just a little different and at that point I may even be ready to get another one. I really want at least two of them but can't get two right now or I would. But then again I may skip the next version and get a HHKB instead as I want one of those as well.

Had another thought wonder if this seller knows about GeekHack. I bet he could generate some business here by announcing his sales in this forum. And could maybe help those that want to get stuff out of Japan. Any ways just a thought. Maybe I will send him a email and let him know about us. Because if I had known he was going to get these I would not have spent so much on getting one through Crescent Shop
