Looking for an "all korean" key set
« on: Tue, 01 April 2014, 09:40:34 »
Hi!

Im looking for an keycap set with all text in korean (including keys like Control, home, capslock and so on)
im thinking of buying it for a korean friend and i want it to be as correct as possible.

so what i am requesting is if someone who natively speaks/reads korean could give me a "translation" (i know korean keyboards have the regular english words) to the different buttons.

I can make the layout file myself but since im not a native speaker its hard to know if it makes sence  :p

this is what i have made so far:

시프트   = Shift
캡 잠금  = Caps Lock
제어 = Control (is this the "right" kind of control?)

All help would be apreciated :)

Send the PM to Sprit not Spirit. You can try asking zenuty too but he's been AFK lately.

I want something like this but in hangul instead of a "chinese keyboard" (from tomorow never dies)

I am still having a problem with some of the keys
This is what i got so far:

Capslock = 캡스록 키       Or  캡스락
Tab = 탭
Shift = 시프트 (wikipedia)  or  쉬프트
Esc = 이스케이프  (is it possible to make it shorter)  > Esc
Insert = 인서트
Delete = 딜리트
Home = 홈
Print Screen = 프린트 스크린
scroll lock = 스크롤 락
Enter = 엔터
Backspace = 백스페이스

These are the ones that are left:

pause/break
End
Page up
Page Down
Alt
Alt Gr
Windows
Ctrl

Any help with the last ones and i would be truly grateful. I will post the results here when its done :D

I know that there are no "all korean" ones, there are no all chinese ones either, yet somehow they made one for the james bond movie.

that is what i want

Where there are no western text at all, as if koreans came up with the idea of a keyboard

I am going to order it through WASD keyboards so the keycaps themselves wont be a problem, just the correct translations.

Pause/Break - 중지/단절
End - 끝
Page Up - 페이지 위로
Page Down - 페이지 아래로
Alt (alternate) - 대체
Alt Gr (alternate graphics) - 다른 그래픽
Ctrl (control) - 제어
Windows - 윈도우

All from Google Translate... Maybe someone who speaks Korean can take a look at it and see if it makes sense, or if there is something they would do better.

almost that is right.
i hope it can be help.

Korean speaks all text in modifier without translation to korean, just pronunciation itself.

Capslock = 캡스락
Tab = 탭
Shift = 시프트 / 쉬프트
Esc = 이스케이프 / 이에스씨
Insert = 인서트
Delete = 딜리트
Home = 홈
Print Screen = 프린트 스크린
scroll lock = 스크롤 락
Enter = 엔터
Backspace = 백스페이스

These are the ones that are left:

pause/break = 포즈/브레이크
End =  앤드
Page up  = 페이지업
Page Down  = 페이지다운
Alt = 알트
Alt Gr .. i never listen about this key. just ppl tell as [german alt].
Windows = 윈도우즈 /윈키 (윈도우키)
Ctrl = 컨트롤

Thank you!

http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/layouts/ee635e90ea12ec752385a0bfeedb4069

this is my layout so far, tho the 2 has a @ on this one but most other korean seems to have it on the ' button (with " on the 2)

is this becouse of my keyboard being a swedish one from the begining or that windows has another layout than the standard one?

I guess this was said before, but there isn't an all-Korean keyset. You can make one, but it's a one of a kind. Like if you're trying to get a more "pure" thing or an import, they all have English as well. In fact, they have an extra key dedicated to switching between English and Korean on most of their keyboards.
