Putting Happy Hacking Keyboard Back Together

Does anyone have experience with this?
It won't shut close shut like this. If I press it down, it just opens back up. It seems like it won't stay shut unless I use the screws, is that how it's supposed to be?
Thanks.

Nevermind, that wasn't correct. I didn't sit it correctly on the edge near the space bar. It does sit flush. I'm really not sure if I was hallucinating or something but I remembered the assembly looking different when it didn't work... haha.
