What is the biggest difference between them? Sure the plate mounted ones actually hook onto the plate but other than that is there a reason why these wouldn't work?

PCB mount stabs...mount on the pcb.  There's holes in supporting PCBs for these.  Plate mount do not go past the plate AFAIK.

PCB mount ones have clips underneath them that allow them to attach to the PCB. Plate mount ones don't. They instead hook onto the plate as you said. Those are the only differences.

PCB mount stabs need supported holes on PCB to work, if the PCB don't have these, you got to go with plate mount

I have all types lying around. Even old style screw mounted ones. I'll check them when I get home. Something tells me you don't need plate-mounted ones if the pcb has the extra holes.

I'll report back later.

That is correct but the phantom PCB does not have the holes, so you have to use plate mount. :(

Well, either that, or Costar ones.

I'm doing desoldering my MaxKeyboard for switches, there will be enough stab (Costa) for a full size board. I was planning on using them for future projects but if you need them, just wait for me a couple of days (well, lazy problem) till the work done then I'll send you for free ;)

Edit: I'm not sure about the wire of spacebar stab, MaxKeyboard uses 6x spacer so maybe it wont fit on 6.25 but then you could just bend a new one :))
