The one that is NIUB (New In Unopened Box) will defiantly go high. The other one may not go as high. All the ones that have gone over $200 have been NIB boards. Normal good condition boards have been going for under $100 but then again he has the original box so that may drive it up some. I'll have to watch those and see where they go but not sure I will get in on the bidding though. I want to save up for a HHKB Pro instead.

This one is at $227 and still has 2 days to go http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=180351013474 and this particular one the box has been opened.

9 days to go and it's already gone over $200. Not bad.

I think I understand what GeorgeW meant by "I can't afford to keep these" as in "If this keyboard is selling for over $200...then screw typing on it, I'm selling this thing!"

I'd love to have one, but even the mini Ms are kind of BIG once you've gotten used to the footprint of the HHKB Pro 2.

Hope those of you that want them win the auctions!

Neither of those boards look to be a Model M's. When I first saw the pic  the first thing I thought was too bad one of them is not a Model M as the person with the Model M would beat the crap out of the person with the imitation.

The off color one looks to be an early model kingston light rubber dome board (See the ridge above the F keys). The White one has the wrong shape to be a Model M.

I do like typing on the Model M and the HHKB Pro 2, but if I were doing battle with another person, I'd definitely prefer the full sized model M as my weapon of choice.

Yeah, that unopened box one may be the first M Mini to hit $300.

- Ripster

P.S. But I don't like it when BigPook turns out to be right.:pout:

I am keeping an eye on it myself, but its already more then I would want to spend. But yeah, NIB, unopened, could make it to 300.

I am glad that I am not the only one that likes the mini. Well, then again I wish I was. Then they would be like cheap and stacked up on the sidewalk with a sign taped to them saying "Free Keyboards".

ripster:

The way these model M mini keyboards have been selling, forget sharp elbows;  it's Ty Cobb sliding into third base sharp spikes time.

Not sure I can swing either of these, but perhaps it's time for me to assume my sniper in the weeds position, as mastered by ripster reference the laser trackball.

That's it. Signature showing off. What's next, people cut&pasting the New Testament in there?

Since you asked:

Well, THAT was a surprise.  Looks like the unopened box premium wasn't as high as I thought it would be.  The slightly used one went for a premium.  Shows what I know.

Final prices:
Unopened Box Mini - $202
Mint Cond. Mini -     $152

If anybody here won congrats you bum!  And thanks to GeorgeW for giving us the heads up.

- Ripster

P.S. There's a used one here still available.  Replacement keys - not exact match - seller calls "Collector Quality".:whistle:

Ripster,

Thanks. I came by the "slightly used" one, but I suspect it's as mint as a keyboard can get.  I'm finally done buying model M keyboards unless an M15 appears somewhere, and then it really is Ty Cobb sliding into third base sharp spikes time.

Cheers,

Glad to see you got it.  I didn't say anything here as I figured that was up to you.  I did notice you bidding early.
I am sure you will be happy with it, if not let me know.

I to was surprised at the price of the unopened one as the last one went for 267+
With ebay you just never know.  I also had a really nice PC jr with extra memory, floppy, manual and other extras that went for the opening bid of $19.99.  I could probably have sold the floppy for more.
That one really surprised me as I see them listed for $100.00 +
