Rosewill rk-9100xb / iOne Xarmor / Maxkeyboard Nighthawk
« on: Wed, 01 June 2016, 15:16:34 »
I recently was gifted a Rosewill RK-9100xb. I have a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid at home, but I need a keypad at work. So, the Rosewill has come to work with me. It's doing quite well so far, but I have a problem with the software. The only way to use macros is to put the keyboard into "Gaming Mode". The problem with gaming mode is that it locks the win key, which I use for work. There is no option in the software to disable the winkey lock in gaming mode. You can't even program macros unless you're in gaming mode.

I started doing some looking around to see if there is some type of custom controller or alternative software that I could get to help with this. When I started poking around, I found that the keyboard design is shared with the iOne Xarmor and the Max Keyboard Nighthawk. There's a really neat post/video from 2011 of someone making a custom controller for the Xarmor (called the dashkey), but I can't see that anything was produced from that for others to use. Everything I have read says that the Nighthawk just shares a case design with the Xarmor and the controllers and internals are all custom, But here's where it gets interesting. The software (and even the PDF manual for the software) for my Rosewill are the exact same software as that of the Nighthawk, leading me to believe that they are the same board inside and out. Does anybody have any info on the controllers for these boards and if they can be flashed/reprogrammed/replaced?
