Big name seller.
Typically 1k retail.
50% off summer sale till August 31st.

Very specialized camera, but the dynamic range is insane if you know how to use it.
CRAZY deal, never seen something like this.

edit: I found out that even Blackmagic themselves ALSO have the price listed at 495 till August 31st

Looks pretty nice! If I shot more video I'd definitely be interested. The lossless MPEG recording mode would be awesome for filmmaking.

Wow as an m43 camera owner I'm definitely interested in this.
Looks like quite the decent portable body and a good alternative to ricoh's GR sans fixed lens.
Yeah it's still going to be a bit bigger but it sure beats having to lug around my oly em1 or ep3.

If somebody is interested in this and unfamiliar with m43 lenses, good lenses that would match the portability factor of this would be a pancake type lens such as a lumix 20mm f1.7 (one of my favorites, best bang for your buck period), lumix 14mm F2.5, zuiko 17mm f2.8.

As pictured on their site, another plus of m43 is you can use legacy lenses (i.e. from your dad's film slr camera in the attic or garage) with a corresponding adapter.

I would like to add that this camera is still far far FAR from a carry-around super video shooter.

Battery life is terrible/trash so you will need to carry spares or external (cheap but bulky).

There is no On-the-fly Iso, shutter speed, and white balance change (has made me use my 5D a lot more).

But it gives one hell of a beautiful video with lots and lots of data to work with.
Personally that is the only thing it has going for itself. :p

Seems like the non-pocket but with a relatively small amount of adaptation for cordless op. I don't see this as a huge negative, as I just picked it up to replace the zoom q4 that many saw on stream, and saw the problems with -- fixed focus super wise angle, and picky when used tethered (only capable of 1080i over the HDMI, and drivers are required to use it as a webcam).

to all the brilliant friends who have left us, and all the students who climb on their shoulders.
