Keyboard carry case...? Do they exist?
« on: Tue, 16 June 2009, 08:20:30 »
This might seem like a fairly strange question... but I've been quite enjoying my new Unicomp Customizer, and now I'm thinking of taking it with me to work, since it's a whole lot nicer than typing on my laptop's keyboard. So, I was wondering, is there such a thing as a keyboard carry case? Like an elongated notebook carry case or some kind of briefcase for carrying a keyboard?

I took it with me to work today in the box it shipped in, which works fairly well, though if it started to rain or something the box would probably disintegrate...
Have:Unicomp Customizer 104, IBM Model M Spacesaver 1397681
Want: nothing at the moment, except maybe multimedia controls for my Unicomp :)

Hmm, interesting thread ... the Keyboard Quiver (WTF? What kind of marketing department chose that name?!) sounds like exactly what I'm looking for, though I found a review of it, and it says that a first-generation Logitech G15 won't fit in it, so I suppose my Customizer wouldn't fit in it either. Or would it? The Customizer is bigger than a G15 right?

I don't know, the G15 is pretty big.

I went to pep boys to buy car products.  and i saw a simple small tool bag.  i had a special feeling (almost in my pants) that a model m mini would fit perfectly.  i bought it and sure enough i couldnt have made a better bag for it.  It was lime green however, but my rit dying skills turned it black.

I'll have to photograph it some day, but I got my wife to make a keyboard cozy out of velvet. Only the best for my HHK. I put the roof on and slip it inside the cozy, and it keeps the keys from getting depressed. And it's snug enough that the roof doesn't move around

Yeah, we gotta see that.

Better not have flowers on it.

I like the flowers on it ok? It's gives it feminine appeal and all the women gather around me and say "Awwww lookit the cute keyboard"

Oh wait, that doesn't happen. It usually ends up me being like "Oh you like keyboards this has capacitive switches and blah blah blah" and they slowly reach for their mace.

Nah - we've figured out it's the "Strong Fingers from Buckling Springs" angle - try, "you look tense, you need a Dvorak massage".

The "strong fingers" angle worked for me. If the girl doesn't know what Dvorak is, that might work out great in your favor... or you might get arrested; either or.

As long as the story and the massage both have a happy ending, I don't think she'll care.

They do make keyboard carry cases; they're called backpacks.
I type on a DASK3ULT using the Colemak keyboard layout.[/SIZE]
