I remember when I sold my first G84-4100 to lam47, he had issues with it being detected as an unknown USB device on his PC, yet it worked okay on mine. I'm experiencing the same problem with this second G84-4100 (this one is slightly older with the XP-style Windows keys not the round Vista model like the first one) but only on one of my PCs (a Dell Dimension E521).
Plugged into my primary PC, it works great. Not a single problem. When plugged into any of the 6 USB ports on the Dell E521, it is not detected correctly.
It might be something screwy about this particular model, but I wonder if anybody else has experienced it. According to the label on the back, it requires 100mA, which is considerably more than the 16mA that the G80-3000 requires but I've used TV tuners requiring pretty much the full 500mA and not experienced problems on the Dell system.
