Cables, we don't need no stinking cables!

Seriously though, I concur, no cables is a deal breaker. But for $1 you could have the keyboard fight of the century.

Considering how they've stopped making those things, maybe they had a stockpile of keys from the Lexmark days? It's a shame they don't make them anymore, if they sold them for about half the price that they had them advertised on their page (at least for the trackpointless version) they'd have themselves a winner.

I think you're on to something. I found it odd that they would suddenly stop making that particular board altogether.

Maybe the machines that are used to create these keyboards is finally breaking down. Unicomp may not have the money to fix/replace them.

What are these like to use? Are they comparable to a Model M?

what cable do they use? I am assuming its the same cable that I use with my model m's.
these are supposedly pretty decent from what I have read. they have the buckling rubber cup iirc.

edit: after looking at the link, one of the pictures shows the back of the keyboard. it looks to be the same cable as the m's

Yah, I think it is a standard SDL cable connection.  (assuming this is the trackpoint-less model).  That other weird connector is for a numpad.

This is what iMav said about the switch:

I remember him saying something like that. It might be nice for work. Its trippy that its a lot of 12.  I would think the shipping would cost  a bit more than 16.73.

I figured out of 12 one would work and it looks like I could fit one in my laptop bag ...maybe leave one at work. The rest could have been party favors or something.

I emailed Unicomp about the Mighty Mouse a few weeks ago. Here's what they said:

So good news on this front :)

That is good news.
ripster sounds about right about the SDL cable. I wouldn't expect much beyond that though.
