MSX Sony HITBIT HB-10, $49 (Euro) + Shipping
« on: Tue, 29 July 2014, 09:17:53 »
This may be a good deal for someone in Europe looking to get some unique Topre caps.  I can't say with 100% certainty that it's Topre since the owner won't pull a cap, but based on the service manual for it it looks like it's Topre.  I know some others have expressed the possibility that it is Topre and Sony has had Topre boards in the past.

I'd grab it, but I don't have the patience to try and make it work as a normal keyboard.

capslock sorta-looks topre to me with the LED window.
We need 002 to know for sure.

edit: on pg 47-48 of the manual, it clearly shows a mitsumi keyboard membrane ..?

The schematics are funky looking and not the easiest to read.  It looks like it could be Topre (and Sony used Topre on some of their video editing boards), but it also looks like it might not be.  It's why I wish the seller would pop a cap.

Before the appearance and great success of Nintendo's Family Computer, MSX was the platform for which major Japanese game studios, such as Konami and Hudson Soft, produced video game titles. The Metal Gear series, for example, was originally written for MSX hardware.[4]
