Herro people of Geekhack! (1397000 anyone? ^^)

Hello there Geekhack : 3 Im new here, but I have been using this site for gathering precious informashun : 3
Hope noone will have a problem with me, neither the other way.

I've already had some experience with mechanical (and semi-mechanical) switches, as well as some really good rubber domes.
If you are interested:
-Black Acer 'switches' (the semi-mechanical part  ;))
-Cherry MX Browns, Blues and Vintage blacks (last one I use ^^)
-a few quick clicks on Apple Extended II (or i guess it was it)
-aaand another few clicks on Dell QuietKey, and a week of using 71G-something dome Model M (love the layout tho ;3)

At the moment i'm aiming for 1397000, so if anyone..  ;)

And i've got one  AT G80-0777, hope it brings me luck someday  :D

Hahah, i just wanted to sound funny  :)) and Herro is a catchy name, will keep that in mind, thank you ^^
And yes, M is the best. And I just could have one terminal emulator  :(

Maybe I'll lay my hands on one, one day ^^ BTW, have you ever tried to type on naked Model M's stems (with that layer detached)? I have an opportunity to get one like this locally, but is that even remotely comfy?

Not for very long.  I took the top part of the keycaps off both of my Model M keyboards to clean them, and couldn't resist typing on just the bottom parts of the keycaps.

Didn't make much difference to the feel - they are about the same size and in the same positions as the two part keycaps joined together in the traditional manner.

If you really want an otaku Model M, you'd be better to buy the blank keycap set from Unicomp: http://pckeyboard.com/page/Buttons/KSET

No worries.

Something else I meant to mention is that the longer keys, Shift, Enter etc. are single piece keycaps, so you'd have partial keycap blanks on most of the keyboard, and full height labelled keycaps on the longer keys.

At least with the Unicomp blank set everything would match.

Good to know :3 not-entirely blank keybord sounds even better to me ^^

And do you perhaps know if these 139700 'terminal emulators' are determined as rare? I'm looking for one and I'm slowly coming to a conclusion, that even a "common" terminal M with one of those SDL to USB cables would come out cheaper. Shipped separately.

Or is that just lack of the stuff at the moment? :3

I just type on my Model M :)
