springs in a realforce/topre
« on: Sun, 07 June 2009, 18:47:11 »
two questions regarding springs in realforce's and topre keyboards (incl. hhkb pros).
1) Has anyone identified a source for buying the springs separately? (I've been gone from this forum for a while). I'm interested in converting my hhkb from a 45g to a 30g keyboard.
2) How hard is it to remove and replace springs on these keyboards? I see that the realforce 87's come with a total of 17 30g springs, which, if I could swap them around, would be enough to cover all my left hand keys. (My left hand is the one that is injured and weaker).

I think it's been determined that the varying levels of resistance is caused by the thickness of the rubber domes, and the springs are the same for all force levels. There's an article in the modding section (I think) made by Ripster where he dissasembled his Realforce and found the above out.

Wasn't the Dharma tactical all 30g?
