Need to find an F3 keycap and Alt Keycap for my Model M
« on: Mon, 12 January 2015, 22:45:20 »
While I've tried clickykeyboards.com for this they won't ship any orders under $10 (not including shipping and handling). I just need an F3 keycap and a left alt keycap with green print. Missing both of these keys is bugging me. I know Unicomp makes them but I also know that they are a bit different in color and font and I know that would bug me. I've browsed and posted in the free stuff section with no luck. I could just buy $10 worth of keycaps or something on clickykeyboards.com. It wouldn't hurt to have extras I guess. If anybody knows of any other place I can find these it would be much appreciated  :)

Um, this sounds like a WTB thread.

Not allowed :p :(
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

This isn't a WTB thread. I'm asking what sites I can find these keycaps on.

eBay.

Sometimes asking nicely in a the Free Stuff classifieds thread might get you somewhere.

He already said he tried.

In the past I would have responded, but now I'm also out of green alt (or any alt for that matter, as well as most mods and most numpad keys). Sending him f3 is no problem for me, but I think it's better to leave this to CONUS located people.
Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.
