TEX aluminum TKL cases fit and looks
« on: Thu, 18 September 2014, 14:27:00 »
I wondered if someone has knowledge of their fit.
a) do those TEX TKL aluminum cases hide the bottom of keycaps and
key switches sufficiently?
b) do the red ones:

have different kind of a color hue, than the red
caps of this set (I own a set of these thick PBT caps):

c) will these TKL aluminum cases match WASDkeyboards TKL (I own one)?

e) will these TKL aluminum cases match CM QFR keyboards (I own one)?

a) AFAIK, yes

b) yes, plastic and anodization create 2 different colors

c) No, WASD keyboards aren't Filco style mount.

d) Yeah, probably.

The quality of these cases is pretty questionable, though. Or so I've heard.

This case doesn't rely on mounting holes; the plate is held in place by the top half of the case. As long as the plate has a curved lip at the front and back (or the proper spacers) it should work just fine. The TEX TKL cases is a drop-in replacement for Costar OEM boards like the QFR, Majestouch, and even the WASD v2. Even the USB connector is pin compatible.
