The springs in brown and red switches are the same, correct? And the actuation force for both is 45g. Doesn't the tactile bump provide some resistance in the brown switches or does the actual key register slightly before the bump occurs?
I am just a little confused because I use red switched now but am thinking about getting brown switches because I thought the bump would provide a slight resistance to accidental key presses, like when gaming or whatever, so I could slightly rest my fingers on the keys easier. Sometimes with the red switches I'll notice my guy in FPS games drifting off diagonally and realize I'm pressing the "D" key accidentally.
I have used a keyboard with black switches and they were too stiff for me.
Edit - I think if I understand correctly the browns actually take 55g to get over the bump and then activate at 45g so the 45g was kind of misleading to me since some places don't tell you that the resistance of the bump goes up to 55g (called Peak force I guess) before coming back down to the 45g actuation point. Anyway, it seems like the browns will do what I want based on specs...
