MX Stems for Topre [CM Nova, 3D printed, Noppoo]
« on: Mon, 06 October 2014, 09:52:16 »
Howdy fellow GHer's,

Has anyone had enough experience with using the MX sliders on Topre boards to utilize the great keycap options? How do they hold up, feel etc?
I've just received my FC660C in grey and am heavily debating buying a used black one to change out my modifiers. This isn't the cheapest option (plus, I can't find a dye-sub one around) so the cheaper options are the sliders. They also give me the option to change out in the future.

Any thoughts and experience with them would help me out greatly.

I think he's asking for what people think of them, not if they're available.

You've got that right. There are spare comments here and there, but not enough to build a proper opinion. From what I gather though, the spacebar is impossible to replace as even the FC660M has different profiles.

I believe that the stabilizers also cause issue, since the Matt3o model works for normal keys, but only the spacebar uses stabilizers on Topre boards, so otherwise it'll be fine.
Also, did you mean FC660C, the (C)apacitative rather than (M)echanical?

I made a post about the V2 Matt3o sliders I had printed.

One of them broke a few days ago...took a while to recover the keycap...which is kind of scratched on the bottom now.

I would hope the Novatouch has better sliders

I did mean the M in my last post. I have hear that even the key caps are of a different profile in the C vs the M.

Thanks for that information. I was concerned with what the 3D quality would be and so that helps.
