Looking for New Keyboard - Need Help
« on: Sun, 19 October 2014, 22:48:19 »
Hello Everyone!

So you might have seen my other thread, I had some inquiries about the QuickFire TK. Well now I've learned that some of the keycaps for this board are somewhat difficult to get, especially the spacebar. So I was thinking of possibly just getting a new board all together. Obviously I'll still keep the TK and I could possibly customise it in the future, but I think I'll just get a new board along with custom keycaps for the new board. So, I have no idea what to get. I've heard Filco and Ducky mentioned a lot, but I wouldn't no which model to get. I use my keyboard for typing and gaming. My TK has brown switches, so I'm actually unsure if I would want to try out something else or stick with Brown. I like the feel of Browns, but I've never actually tried another keyboard. Possibly blues? (Although I've heard they're not great for gaming). I've never really liked the idea of having reds or blacks for some reason.

But yeah, suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,
Gunni :)

Wow I accidently posted this thread twice. My browser told me it timed out each time I tried to post it, but apparently it was posted.

I'll use the thread here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=64450.0, a moderator can delete this one :)

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
