µTron on OS/X Linux?
« on: Mon, 10 November 2014, 20:51:24 »
Hi all,
Through some luck and magic I got my hands on a µTron.
I'm having a hard time to get some of the keys to work under OSX/Linux. E.g. the large keys under the index finger, which I would expect to be space bar (a la TEK), don't seem to do anything.
Anyone have any experience here?

Tnx

Thanks for the tip. Tried with karabiner on OSX unfortunately the OS doesn't recognize the modifier keys and they're not recorded in Karabiner's event logger. Going to try Linux remapping next.

I figured it out: the modifier keys in the middle are called EISUU and KANA.
Managed to remap them to space using Karabiner once I'd installed Seil[1].
Wish I could have mapped KANA to backspace instead.
Next up Linux...

If you have further issues you might want to ping HaaTa on the #geekhack irc channel. He has one of these and has used it, AFAIK, pretty much exclusively in Linux.
