[WTB] Slightly Older Style Unicomp Model M with 1.25x Winkey
« on: Tue, 11 November 2014, 21:03:44 »
Yo!

Chasing a slightly older Unicomp Model M with the 1.25x left-side winkey.
I contacted Unicomp recently and they said they are no longer producing them and had none left of the old style  :(

  • must have the 1.25x left winkey not the new 1x winkey
  • would prefer black
  • either Classic or Ultra Classic, no preference
  • would prefer PS/2
  • would prefer a standard model, not something with a trackball or whatever
  • despite everything above, I will consider anything, because right now, having any buckling spring keyboard is better than a Logitech rubber dome rubbish keyboard

Will need to be posted to Melbourne, Australia (obviously I'm aware postage will be expensive and I'm willing to pay for it).

For those who aren't aware:

Old Style (what I'm after):
81757-0

New Style (no thanks)  :))
81759-1

Thanks everyone  :thumb:

I am glad I managed to get one of the old style unicomp boards.. The new layout is just strange. I guess the only option for new boards is to get one without the windows key

I actually like the new 103 layout.  Returns to the traditional bottom row IBM used to have;

1.5 - 1 - 1.5 - 7 - 1.5 - 1 - 1.5

If the seller doesn't ship internationally, I can be your proxy  :)

You are also a hero!!  ;D  ;D  ;D

I will give the seller another day or so to reply (it's close of business Monday here but Monday might not've even started over there yet lol)

If he doesn't reply, or just won't post international, I'll PM you :thumb:

The 103 layout is fine. I was saying the new 104 layout is horrible vs the old 104 layout

I agree - I don't mind the traditional 1.5 - 1 - 1.5 - 7 - 1.5 - 1 - 1.5, but the current thing with the 1.5 - 1 - 1.5 - 6.5?? - 1 - 1.5 - 1 - 1.5... seriously Unicomp, what are you doing?
