where to buy cherry mx green key switches?
« on: Fri, 18 January 2013, 10:12:00 »
i don't want a full mx green keyboard, i just want to try out a few green switches first to see how i like them, anyone know where they can be found?

also, has anyone considered or attempted creating and typing on a really funky key switch keyboard? like a keyboard with every type of cherry key switch randomly placed on it? and maybe randomly placed unique key caps as well

If you cannot find green switches you can try "ghetto greens" by putting black springs in blue switches.

I do not think that just trying the feeling of a switch without it being in keyboard layout really tells much.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

"getto blues" are still not like greens from what i have read

greens = 80g of force
blacks = 60
blues = 50

so by no means is that going to give you the true idea of what a green is like

Buy one off Amazon then return it if you don't like it.  Amazon has a great return policy.  You would have to pay for shipping though.

Just trying to find pricing, willing to trade vintage blacks and/or blues

MK is where I order all of mine.

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

ahh I see, so it doesn't get any cheaper than that? I just picked up an infinity keyboard but I accidentally ordered blues instead of greens. Was hoping some chinese website (i.e. alibaba or banggood) had some switches for sale or something.

Thanks tho!

j0hnny, I suggest you buy heavy springs and use them with your blue stems to get the green feeling. Switches are not cheap but springs are.

Ahh I see, so I should instead create some ghetto greens instead since I already have the blue switches. Hmm that makes sense. are there any downsides to creating ghetto greens besides additional labor?
