New Vortex Dye Sub PBT Caps
« on: Wed, 21 January 2015, 06:51:09 »
Didn't see any threads on this nor do I see any discussion about it. Hopefully I'm not double posting. Vortex's Facebook page posted a new album with their new dye subbed PBT caps. I think these are they're best effort yet.

Their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Vortexgear
Their album that I reposted the pictures from.

The things they post on Facebook, do they ever hit production and sale?

They've posted some cool stuff before but never seen it for sale.

I don't know. MechanicalKeyboards.com carries their stuff and are pretty active here. You could try asking 00ZerO or JoshMK if they know when new Vortex stuff comes in. They've got a thread as well where you can ask them to stock Vortex stuff.

I've heard that they're hard to work with though and do things when they feel like it. So their shipments and sales aren't the best. But MK.com would obviously know better than I do.

These look really, really nice. I want these with light grey legends.

Hmm I'm not sure if I like them or not. The legends are too much in a corner for me.

Resale value for Vortex stuff seems to be pretty low. I guess I can wait a few years until my other keycaps show some wear before I revisit this topic. Then I'll buy up the keycaps and do some custom dye jobs.
Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

While I like what I am seeing, I'll wait for them to post pictures of the modifier legends before passing judgement. *cough*

If I remember correctly I think massdrop posted the wrong pictures once.  They were going to post the imsto keycap set but they end up posting this keycap set.

And if my assumption is correct then I think this set is thin PBT, but I do agree font wise they're the best Vortex has done thus far.
