[Help] Replacing USB cable to my Filco Majestouch 2
« on: Wed, 14 January 2015, 16:50:01 »
For a few months my keyboard has been in a mix of either not working at all or working fine.  I figured / hoped it was just a short in the USB cable.  I tore it open and tested the cable and sure enough the D- and USB Shielding were shorting out.  Googling around seems to happen enough, sadly.  So the problem is I need to figure out the best method to replace it.

I was thinking of two options.  Either take a normal USB cable cut off one end and solder it to the PCB.  Or I could get fancy and mod it so it has a detachable cable similar to my KUL.  Which has a detachable USB A - USB mini cable.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks,

This sounds like a perfect excuse to upgrade to a sleeved cable. Some of the cable vendors on here even offer detachable cable kits as well as one piece cables. I got one for my Phantom from Pexon and couldn't be happier with it.   :thumb:

Realforce EK45 (Silenced)  |  Realforce 87UW (45g)  |  Realforce 87UWS (Variable)
Filco MJ2 TKL (Cherry Clears)  |  Phantom 87 (78g Gateron Clears)  |  Phantom 86 (67g Zealios)
