Decent UK ISO keyset
« on: Thu, 25 December 2014, 14:36:20 »
I am tempted to get myself an ISO keyboard for UK layout but at a loss where to find a decent UK keyset.

Found doubleshot keysets at ocuk (overclockers) but they come with neither reviews nor profile

Any suggestions?

Like, an 'essentials' UK keyset?  Something clean and not too pretentious.

Pretty much, you have to go in for a group buy. It's a pain in the ass, but the readily available keysets on each of the various stores are almost exclusively ANSI.

The only keysets I've managed to get in ISO are ABS custom colour ones from WASD and my Nuclear group buy set from samwisekoi.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Look for Cherry UK ISO doubleshot and dyesub sets. They are the only really good UK keycaps you will find (imo).

I use an ISO UK layout and it can be a bit tricky to get hold of those few important keys.

[CTRL]ALT often include proper UK ISO keys in their buys which is great but they don't have any group-buys running at the moment. You could try a PM to Bunnylake and see whether they have any extra Bro, Toxic, Nostalgia, Raindrop sets available that included UK ISO keys. So far, these have all been Signature Plastics keys.

You can get the Filco doubleshots from here. These are reported to be SA profile from Signature Plastics. The details say that these only fit Filco keyboards but it's possible that they will fit anything with Costar stabs.

Not keen about the filco doubleshots.  They're great but with the R2/R3 SP SA combo trhey'd be a nightmare to mix and match keys to
