Logitech M570 Rubber Feet
« on: Tue, 07 January 2014, 19:11:02 »
I've heard this same complaint from others on the forum, the Logitech M570 rubber feet stink.  I use two of these mice as daily drivers, one stays at home and one is portable for work.

At first the rubber feet were falling off and all I had to do was super glue them back on, good to go.  But it seems that now they are falling off in bits and pieces.

I'm interested to find out, has anyone found a solid replacement?

Some ideas:

Self adhesive rubber feet such as these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/16x-Round-Rubber-Foot-Self-Adhesive-Black-Feet-RF06-/131084300647?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item1e853bb167

The problem I see with rubber feet such as these is that they too will fall off, and probably more likely.

What I think would be ideal is some sort of flat rubber material.  One that is good enough to fit the entire base and allow cutouts for the battery bay and on/off switch.

Has anyone tried this?  It sounds silly, but searching for one foot thin rubber material seems more difficult than previously imagined.

Lucky.

I have 2, all of their rubber feet have fallen off, all super glued back on.  Now they're falling apart.  There was someone on the Logitech forums that was complaining about this and was given instruction that if it is under warranty he can submit a request to Logitech for a replacement but that would take much too long and wouldn't solve the problem.

Edit: going to try adding a layer of this to the base, making cuts as necessary.  Who knows maybe it'll give it nice solid foundation feels.

I have 3 of these things and every one of them has missing feet! I ordered some 1/16" neoprene sheet from ebay I may try cutting it or just cut something new.

I don't own a M570, but I don't see why usual mouse glide replacements shouldn't work?
The steelseries Glide MS for example look similar in shape, but other glides could be cut to fit the Logitech.

Its a track ball, you don't want it to run slide around like a conventional mouse. You move the ball.
Uh, stuff.
