Hi,

I am about to assemble Ergodox and have 2 questions:

1) I accidentally put resistors on the wrong side (left instead of right). Is it important?

2) I have acrylic case now but want to use the 3D printed one (from the http://ergodox.org/Downloads.aspx) Is it possible to assemble Ergodox from acrylic and then swap it for the CNC-ed plastic one?

Thank you!

1. since the PCB is the same (swappable) then as long as you didn't put anything else then it's fine. You just flip over both PCB and keep going. If you have other things, it's probably also fine. If the resistors are on the back, that's also where the diodes normally go, so you will need some extra room under the PCB for them anyway. The 3D pridnted case has room on either side.

If you assemble with acrylci you have to keep the switch mounting piece: everything else is removeable. I recommend against the 3D printed case as it was very expensive. You can look into czarek's CNC PVC case as a good alternative to the massdrop one.

My fav ergodox case is stainless steel. Can't beat real steel!

hey @dorkvader, thank you for your answers!

I ca 3D print the thing in high quality for a high discount at my university - I would have to do a bit of explaining why i absolutely NEED this case but I can manage I think .

So if price is not an issue - would the acrylic middle layer - that is not removable be in the way for 3D printed case??
