Hello from Ireland!
« on: Tue, 31 March 2015, 14:16:08 »
I am completely new to this but I've become obsessed with mechanical keyboards and I really want one. Trying to get my hands on a JD40, I really really like the compactness.
Also I blame my new-found obsessiveness on 60% you guys and 40% reddit.

I can't wait to get my hands on a jD40, but they are elusive. Wish me luck!

Welcome to GeekHack. It's always nice to see someone fixated on 60% keyboards.  :thumb:

I'm sure you'll have no problem getting your hands on a JD40 in time. Good luck!

Hello and welcome to geekhack!

I really like the aesthetics of the 40, but I couldn't just get rid of all those keys. Good luck finding one, and let me know how much you like it when you grab one. :thumb:

Welcome to Geekhack!

The best place to get a JD40 would be [CTRL]ALT: https://ctrlalt.io/

Unfortunately the store is down at the moment, but you can check their vendor forum to see when it will return.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
